The North American Basic Income Guarantee Congress took place May 24 to 27, 2018 in Hamilton, Ontario.
CIRHR PhD student Kourtney Koebel gave three presentations at the conference: “The Political Economy of a Basic Income,” part of the Making Basic Income A Reality Plenary; “The Political Feasibility of a Basic Income Guarantee in Canada: Lessons from History”; and, as part of the session Basic Income Policy Options in Real (Simulated) Life, an explanation of the technical aspects of modeling Canada’s Social Policy Simulation Database and Model and the results of the different options.
