The majority of PhD graduates from the Centre have entered the academic field at Canadian universities from the University of Victoria in British Columbia to Memorial University in Newfoundland. Graduates have taken positions at the University of Alberta, University of Saskatchewan, Queen’s University, Ryerson University, York University, McGill University, Université de Montréal and Saint Mary’s University.
CIRHR graduates can also be found coast to coast in the United States, from Cornell in New York to San Diego State in California. They have taken positions at Case Western Reserve, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the University of Minnesota, and Troy State University in Florida.
Abroad, PhD graduates have taught at the London School of Economics, the University of Wellington in New Zealand, the University of West Indies in Jamaica, ITESM in Mexico and Renmin University in Beijing.
In addition to university placements, CIRHR PhD graduates have taken policy-related roles in professional unions, several ministries of the Ontario government and even at the OECD in Paris.
