On March 8, 2025, MIRHR students, industry professionals, and HR leaders came together in the historic Hart House Debates Room for the 2025 ASIR-HR Conference, a dynamic event centred around the theme, "Navigating the Future of Work," providing MIRHR students the chance to learn more about neuroinclusion, AI, leadership, and personal branding.
The event was kicked off by keynote speaker Sarah Loucks, Neuroinclusion Global Director at SAP, who shared her journey post-MIRHR and her impactful work in neurodiversity inclusion, followed by an AI panel moderated by Professor Santiago Campero and joined by MIRHR alumni, Akbar Raza and Madeline Reda. This panel brought to bear insightful discussions on AI’s role in the future of work and how students can embrace it.
The afternoon included a leadership panel with alumni, Aileen Coyle, Mohiba Musavi, Robin Ross, and Roddey Harb, all sharing their insights and experience in leadership. Ashley Mayhew facilitated a personal branding workshop and moderated the leadership panel, bringing energy to the room and providing students with actionable career insights. MIRHR alumni, Jida Lor, Dylan Michels, Sasha Mozaffari, Matthew Pinto, Maria Kavanagh, Camille Vo, Ioana (Petrar-Silca) Todorovic, and Grace Shen, also joined the event and shared their advice and career journeys with students.
This conference would not have been so seamless without the guidance and support of Raj Uttamchandani, Professor Rafael Gomez, Professor Hua Wang, Joanna Jiang, Kathleen Leon, and Carol Canzano-Hamala, as well as the dedication of the ASIR-HR executive team and organizing committee. Jasmin Akbari, Emilt Teitelbaum, Jasmine Farahat, Ekamjot Jaura, Shahbano Rao, Alissia Sannuto, Bowen Gao, Tracy Sun, Yuxuan Chen, Emilio Goya, Lexi Xue, Lisa Levitan, Sharu Goyal, and Victoria Zhang worked tirelessly to ensure that the conference was a success.
